Afanasyevsky village council was formed in the first years of Soviet power. According to 1919, he was part of the Vyshegorodsky volost of the Vereisk district of Moscow province .

February 27, 1922 in connection with the abolition of Vereisk district, Vyshegorodsky volost was transferred to Mozhaisk district .

In 1927, the Kuzminsky s / s was separated from the Afanasyevsky s / s [2] .

In 1926, the Afanasyevsky s / s included the villages of Afanasyevo , Kuzminskoye , Pafnutovka , Timofeevo , as well as one artel [3] .

In 1929, the Afanasyevsky Village Council became part of the Verey district of the Moscow District of the Moscow Region. At the same time, Kovriginsky s / s was attached to it.

On June 17, 1939, the Kuzminsky s / s (villages of Dedenevo, Kuzminskoye and Pafnutovka) was attached to the Afanasyevsky s / s.

On June 14, 1954, the Volchenkovsky and Ivkovsky village councils were attached to the Afanasyevsky s / s.

On June 3, 1959, the Vereysky district was abolished and the Afanasyevsky s / s entered the Naro-Fominsky district.

On August 29, 1959, the villages of Verkhovye , Korovino , Sekirino , Spasskoye, Tatishchevo and Ustye of the abolished Klinsky s / s were annexed to the Afanasyevsky s / s . At the same time, the villages of Vasilyevo , Ivkovo , Kolodezi , Serenskoye and Sotnikovo were transferred from the Afanasyevsky village s / s to the Vyshegorodsky village council . The villages of Akhmatovo , Voskresenki , Efanovo , Lapino , Revyakino and Teleshovo were transferred from Vyshegorodsky s / s to Afanasevsky.

On February 1, 1963, the Naro-Fominsky district was abolished and the Afanasyevsky s / s entered the Mozhaisky rural district . On January 11, 1965, the Afanasyevsky s / s was returned to the restored Naro-Fominsky district.

On April 4, 1973, the villages of Vasilyevo, Ivkovo, Kolodezi, Serenskoye and Sotnikovo were transferred from the Veselyovsky village / village to Afanasyevsky. At the same time, the village of Pionersky was transferred from Afanasyevsky s / s to Simbukhovsky .

On May 30, 1978, the village of Dedenevo was abolished in the Afanasyevsky village s / s.

On February 3, 1994, the Afanasyevsky rural district was transformed into the Afanasyevsky rural district [4] .

During the 2004-2005 municipal reform, the Afanasyevsky rural district ceased to exist as a municipal unit. Moreover, all its settlements were transferred to the rural settlement Volchenkovskoye (except for the village of Zagryazhskoye , transferred to the urban settlement of Vereya ) [5] .

November 29, 2006 Afanasyevsky rural district was excluded from the accounting data of the administrative-territorial and territorial units of the Moscow region [6] .
