“Forerunner” is the fifth studio album of the Russian rock band “ KnyaZz ”. The radio presentation of the album took place on September 16, 2015 on the waves of " Our Radio " [2] [3] . On September 18, the album was posted on the Yandex.Music service , and CD sales started on October 2 and were accompanied by an autograph session of the band members in St. Petersburg . The album was preceded by the release of the single Passenger [4] .

About the album
All songs were written by Andrey Knyazev at different times:
“Basically, the material is all scattered throughout the years. That is, the song “Forerunner” was written by me a very long time ago, in the year 91-92. And the rest - and 2000, and 2005, and 2010 ... That is, the spread is very large. Colossal variation. Songs seventeen in the album. That is, I began to pull out my archives. ”

The album is the longest in the discography of the group: it contains 17 songs, as well as five poems and two conversational scenes (“rumors”), pre-arranged songs like the album of the King and the Jester group “ Sorry, no gun ”. In the track listing of the album, they are designated as “ prologues ”. The songs “Tailor”, “Puppeteer”, “Show of Freaks” and prologues to each of them form a trilogy .
This album is different from the past releases of the group and from a musical point of view. The sounding album is close to the “ Acoustic Album ” of the “ King and the Clown ” group and to Andrey Knyazev ’s solo album “ Love is a scoundrel ”. In addition to the band members, session musicians took part in the recordings, and the emphasis in the sound was directed not at “heavy” guitars , but at “soft” instruments: violin , cello , trumpet , piano and ukulele .
Criticism
In his review, music reviewer Alexey Mazhaev calls the album predictable. He accuses Andrei Knyazev of unwillingness to come up with new creative solutions and the exploitation of old themes [1] .

Interesting Facts
- Prior to the release of the album, only the songs Passenger, Hard Worker and House of Scum were presented to the public at the acoustic concerts of the group. Also, the song "Passenger" was released as a single five months before the release of the album.
- This is the first release of the group with violinist Irina Sorokina and the last release with guitarist Vladimir Strelov and drummer Pavel Lokhnin.
