A target is an artificial target during training and shooting competitions at firing ranges and shooting ranges .
There are several types of targets:
- Paper targets (usually with concentric circles or a human / animal silhouette).
- Targets for trap shooting ("plates").
- Targets for bullet shooting (paper targets).
- Models of animals (for archery).

Sports Slang
The bullseye is the center of the target. The use is connected with tradition: in ancient times, improvised objects, including fruits, were used as targets. Thanks to the legend of William Tell , an apple pierced by an arrow has become a symbol of arrow accuracy. This is where the phrase “To the bullseye” came from.

Dimension - the size of the target. The border between adjacent values, for example, between the “eight” and “nine”, is called the size. A hit that has barely touched the dimension is called a clearance hole. Such a shot counts in favor of the athlete, that is, the point is awarded, the external dimension of which is affected.
Milk is the white field around the target. Hitting this zone does not bring points, does not count as an effective shot, is a miss.
