Teen Titans is an American animated series created by Glen Murakami based on the DC Comics eponymous comics . The plot of the series is based mainly on the plots of the comic book of the same name by Marv Wolfman and George Perez .

The premiere of the animated series took place on Cartoon Network on July 19, 2003 , and also later on Kids' WB . Only four seasons were originally planned, but due to the popularity of the show, it was extended to season 5. The final episode was shown on January 16, 2006, although a full-length animated film called Young Titans: The Occurrence in Tokyo was also premiered on September 15, 2006 . The series was re-shown on the Boomerang channel.

The animated series became one of the most popular Cartoon Network series, and was nominated for 3 Annie Awards and one Motion Picture Sound Editors Award . Based on the series, comics, DVD releases, video games, music albums and collectible toys were released.

Seven years after the end of the original series, a spin-off was created for him under the title “ Young Titans, Go! ”, Which premiered on April 23, 2013 .

Characters

The plot revolves around five main characters: Robin (voiceover by Scott Menville), a smart and capable team leader, Starfaire (voiceover by Hinden Walsh), a bizarre alien from the planet Tamaran, Cyborg (voiceover by Hari Payton), half-half-robot, Raven (voiceover by Tara ) , a girl from the parallel world of Azarat, using psionic abilities, and Bistboy (voice acting Greg Kayps), able to turn into various animals.

The team is engaged in the fight against crime in the city, at the same time the series focuses on the teenage difficulties of the main characters, on their problems and relationships. The main enemy of the team is the supervillain Slade, which is a variation of the well-known DC cartoon villain Detstroke .

Style

The animated series is replete with humorous inclusions stylized as an anime . At the same time, the series itself was created under the great influence of Japanese animation. The series was also influenced by previous works by show authors Glenn Murakami and Bruce Timm Batman of the future and the Justice League .

In the musical theme of the series, English and Japanese words alternate, the song itself was performed by j-pop group Puffy AmiYumi .

Reviews

The series received generally positive reviews. In 2009, Young Titans were included in the list of the best animated series according to IGN , taking 83 line of the rating. [2]
