Apo Reef is a group of coral reefs in the Philippines located in the province of West Mindoro in the Mindoro Strait . Covering 34 square kilometers, the reef is the second largest in the world and the largest in the country. The reef and its surrounding waters are Apo Reef Natural Park and are protected by the state. This is one of the most famous and popular diving sites in the country.
Apo Reef is located 15 nautical miles (28 km) west of the coast of the closest Philippine island of Mindoro . It is separated from the island by the Mindoro Strait.
