Biography
Since 1889 he lived and worked in Vienna. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts with Edmund von Helmer . In 1898, he participated in evening sculpture courses led by professors Camillo Zitte and Anton Brenek .
In 1904, receiving a scholarship, he traveled to Italy.
Since 1906, he was a member of the creative association " Vienna Secession " and the association of arts and crafts " Vienna workshops ". One of the founders of Austrian Werkbund, a manufacturing union whose goal was to reorganize Austria's construction and artisans on a modern industrial basis.
In 1913, he became a professor at the Vienna School of Crafts, and in 1932, a professor at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts .
He died in 1934 from heart failure. He was buried at the Hitzing Cemetery of Vienna.

Creativity
The author of sculptures, busts, jewelry, tombstones and design works of small objects for everyday use.
The most famous works are the bust of Victor Adler for the monument to the Republic, the sculpture of the Mother for the monument to the Warriors at the Vienna Central Cemetery .
Many of the sculptor’s small works are now kept in art museums in Prague, Olomouc , Prostejov , Opava , etc.
