Cryopeg

Cryopeg ( Eng. Cryopeg ) or Cryogaline waters - underground natural saline water ( brines ) having a negative temperature.

The formed cryopegs can be both seasonal (located within the layer of seasonal thawing-freezing) and perennial (located below the roof of permafrost ).

The mineralization of cryopegs is variable in depth and in plan and varies widely (for example, a gradient from 15.0 to 90 g / l is characteristic of the north of the Yamal Peninsula).

Also, cryopegs are characterized by migration processes in the rock mass.
