Josif Kalimo - a scientist monk of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra .
In 1647, he took a course of philosophy at the Kiev-Mogilyana College; wrote a brochure: “A new cry for the burial of the exalted Peter the Grave”, in Polish “Zal ponowiony ro pogrzebie Jasnie Przwelebnego, Fr. Piotra Mohiły ”(Kiev, 1647 ) and participated in the compilation of the well-known polemical essay“ Lifos ”written on the initiative and under the guidance of Petro Mohyla .
He was an ardent defender of Orthodoxy and therefore did not enjoy the sympathy of the Jesuits .
