General information
The village is located 40 km south-west of the regional center of Antropovo , at the confluence of the Sakha River into the Kus River.
History
Since the beginning of the 17th century, the village was known for its wooden church, " Martyr Tryphon on the Sakha River."
The village is named for the martyr Tryphon. According to the census of 1628, the land belonged to the landowners Kadnikov, Pereleshin, Shipov and "German captain Denis Petrovich Fon-Visin", the ancestor of the writer D. I. Fonvizin .
In 1826, a stone Temple of the Presentation of the Lord was built in the village with the aisles of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the martyr Tryphon. The bell tower is three-story. The temple is active, it is an architectural monument of federal significance [2] .
