Patsaev Crater ( lat. Patsaev ) - a large ancient impact crater in the southern hemisphere of the far side of the moon . The name was given in honor of the Soviet cosmonaut Viktor Ivanovich Patsaev (1933-1971) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1973. The formation of the crater dates back to the nectar period [1] .

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Lander Crater in the west-north-west; Volkov crater in the northwest; Chauvin Crater in the northeast; Bondarenko crater in the east; a small crater of Cyrus in the southwest (and further southwest of the Tsiolkovsky crater) [3] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 55.3 km [4] , depth 2.4 km [1] .
The Patsaev crater is significantly destroyed, covered by rocks ejected during the formation of the Tsiolkovsky crater and turned into a lowering area with difficult to distinguish boundaries. The satellite crater Lander K adjoins the northwestern part of the crater, and the Patsaev Q satellite satellite crater adjoins the southwestern part of the crater. The bottom of the crater bowl is crossed, without noticeable structures.
