Philip (von) Ferrari de la Renotière (sometimes also Philippe la Renotier de Ferrari [1] ; French Philip (von) Ferrari de La Renotière ; January 11, 1850 [2] - May 20, 1917 ) - Baron , philatelist , the largest collector of the classical period of philately and the owner of a vast and unique private collection of postage stamps and whole things [3] [4] [5] . He was known as the “king of stamp collecting ” [6] .

Biography
Baron Philippe Ferrari was of Italian descent. He was born and lived almost his whole life in Paris [5] . He had Austrian citizenship and was buried in Austria .
Contribution to Philately
In the process of establishing philately as a popular collection area in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, large collectors began to appear in many countries of Europe and America . They created significant and extensive collections of postage stamps all over the world [3] .
During this romantic period of philately, the French collector Philippe Ferrari gained his legendary fame. His collection included almost all philatelic rarities and rarities known at that time. Having a huge fortune, Ferrari was looking for brands around the world to replenish and expand his collection. At the same time, he bought both individual rarities and complete collections of other famous collectors, for example, such as Baron Rothschild [3] . Ferrari Rare Books
Philip Ferrari owned the rarest brands of the planet, including such rarities as:

Ferrarieti

In 1968, Ferrari was immortalized on the postage stamp of Liechtenstein ( Sc # 448; SG # 496) , released in the series “Outstanding Philatelists of the World” [5] .
