Biography
A Pole from his father, Mechislav Feliksovich Shklyarsky (1920-2012), from childhood he spoke two languages - Russian and Polish [1] , according to religion - Catholic [2] . Grandfather - Felix-Julian Nikolaevich Shklyarsky . Father - mining engineer, laureate of the USSR State Prize. Mother, Irina Sergeyevna Shklyarskaya, worked as a teacher at the Conservatory, taught a general piano course. Wife - Elena Pavlovna Shklyarskaya. Daughter - Alina Edmundovna Shklyarskaya (born May 29, 1984). Son Stanislav , leader of the Incognito group (born January 27, 1986). Two grandchildren.
He grew up in a family with strong musical traditions, studied at the music school in piano , but did not finish it, having studied for five years. He learned to play the violin, however, his acquaintance with rock and roll put an end to his academic career. He has a degree in the electrical part of nuclear power plants and plants, electromechanical faculty of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute. In the mid -1960s, he heard the Beatles , The Rolling Stones , Animals and, under the influence of what he heard, began to master the guitar.
In the fall of 1973, he rehearsed with Aquarium for some time, then Grebenshchikov and Gunitsky played in the group as a guitarist (he played only on acoustic guitar), but in the end he preferred to go his own way. He himself explained in an interview: “Then many could play anywhere. The groups broke up, then joined. Brownian motion occurred. The compositions have changed. Former competitors became like-minded ” [3] .
A year later, he entered the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute , where the traditions of student festivals have long been strong and the local rock scene flourished, and in the autumn organized his first group, "Surprise." Around the same time, the tenth grader Zhenya Voloshchuk (who later also entered the Polytechnic University) organized the Orion group. In the spring of 1977, Edmund Shklyarsky became a pianist and second singer of Orion. Soon “Orion” changes its name to “ Picnic ” and on March 7, 1981 plays at the opening of the Leningrad Rock Club . In the spring of 1983, the group became the laureate of the first rock festival in Leningrad.
In January 2009, Edmund Shklyarsky was awarded the “Certificate and Honorary Sign of St. Tatiana” signed by Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Vladimir [4] .
He took part in the dubbing of the cartoon “The Nightmare Before Christmas ”.
Edmund Shklarsky is the author of music and title songs for the series Kingdom of the Curves and Law of the Mousetrap .
On March 16, 2018, Edmund Shklyarsky was seriously injured in an accident with a minibus transporting a group to a concert [5] .
