Thomas Otto "Tom" Shankland ( born Thomas Otto "Tom" Shankland ; born May 7, 1968) is an English film and television director and screenwriter. He is known as the director of the films “ Torture Chamber ” (2007) and “ Kids ” (2008) and television series as “Ghosts” (2011), “ Ripper Street ” (2012) and “Missing” (2014); for the latter, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Directing Mini-Series, Film, or Drama Program in 2015. [3] He was also twice nominated for a BAFTA Best Short Film Award for Bait (1999) and Going Down (2000).
