Biography
From the peasants of the village of Khodistani of the Ozurgetsk district of Kutaisi province. Primary education in the Basilet two-year school. He organized a student strike, for which he was expelled [2] . He graduated from the Kutaisi agricultural school. By specialty gardener. Member of the RSDLP , Menshevik . He was on friendly terms with Joseph Dzhugashvili [3] . In 1903, together with I. Tsereteli, publishes the Social Democratic magazine Kvali. In 1904 he conducted revolutionary propaganda among the workers of the city of Poti , organized revolutionary circles in Novorossiysk [2] . On April 10-25, 1906, he participated under the surname “Vorobiev” [2] in the work of the IV (Stockholm) Congress of the RSDLP . He was constantly under police surveillance. Often subjected to frequent arrests, he was serving sentences in prisons of Batumi and Tiflis [3] .
On February 6, 1907, he was elected to the State Duma of the 2nd convocation from the general composition of electors of the Kutaisi provincial electoral assembly. He was a member of the Social Democratic faction. Commissioner on the transformation of the local court. According to E. Ya. Kizevetter, Lomtatidze spoke Russian with a strong accent, which caused conflicts at the meetings of the Duma: the right, including Purishkevich , assured that they did not understand it [4] . In the case of the Social Democratic faction of the 2nd Duma, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison, replaced by 7 years in prison. He was arrested in 1908, by decision of the party he was assigned a lawyer, a member of the RSDLP, Ruben Pavlovich Katanyan . Thanks to the efforts of his lawyer, Lomtatidze was transferred from the Astrakhan prison to Saratov, but he also contracted tuberculosis in the Astrakhan prison, from which he died in the Saratov prison [3] .
Buried in Tiflis. In 1958 he was reburied in the Didube pantheon on the initiative of the Union of Writers of Georgia [3] .
Literary creativity
Lomtatidze's prose and journalistic works were published in the periodicals of the beginning of the 20th century: Kvali, Moambe, Tskobis, Purtzli, Tsiskari, Tsisartkela, Mavali, Khomaldi, Akhali, Azri ”,“ Mntobi ”and others [2] .
Family
- His wife is Elizaveta Veniaminovna Giderimskaya (1889-1958) [5] , from a family of Novorossiysk breadmakers, a social democrat. In 1915 she married the lawyer of her husband R. P. Katanyan [3] .
