The name is translated from Chukot . - "pressed" [3] .

History
The village Tymlat appeared no later than 1901 [4] .
The status and boundaries of a rural settlement are established by the Law of the Koryak Autonomous District of December 2, 2004 No. 365-OZ “On the Empowerment of the Status and Determination of the Administrative Centers of the Municipal Formations of the Koryak Autonomous Region” [5] .

Economy and Infrastructure
The town-forming enterprise Tylamat fish factory is one of the largest in the region and the largest in Koryakia. Almost completely burned in June 2016 [15] . Also, the agricultural artel "Friendship" is engaged in the selection of sea animal skins and reindeer herding.
In the village there are: a school for 192 students, a kindergarten for 50 places, a music school; Department of General Practitioner, House of Culture, bath, 5 shops. Weather station. Orthodox parish church in honor of the Transfiguration.
The power supply system of the village is isolated, it is carried out from the local diesel power plant with a total power of 1,635 kW, while actually one installation of 320 kW is involved in the operation, the other three generators are in reserve. The heating system of the village is centralized, from the coal boiler. Water is supplied from an underground source and is provided with a single artesian well. In this case, the analysis of hot water for the needs of the population is conducted from the heating system. Domestic wastewater treatment is not performed, storm sewage is completely absent. In order to protect the village of Tymlat from flooding, the construction of an earth dam with a length of 1.6 km is planned [16] .
