Location

The station is located in the “hospital quarter” of Lyon, the 8th arrondissement of Lyon . The station platform is located under the street Guillaume Paraden ( fr. Rue Guillaume Paradin ), to the south-east of its intersection with the street Victor de Laprad ( fr. Rue Victor de Laprade ). The entrance to the station is from the street Guillaume Paraden [1] [2] .

Features

The station was opened on December 11, 1992 as part of the second line of line D from the Grange Blanche station to the Gare de Venissieu station. Consists of two ways and two side platforms. Passenger traffic in 2006 amounted to 132,316 people / month [1] .

The station was designed by architect Dominique Berard ( fr. Dominique Bérard ). Due to the terrain, the entrance to the station Gare de Vaze is located at ground level. Above the entrance of the direction of the Gare de Venissiou according to the project of the architects Françoise-Helene Jourdie ( Fr. Françoise-Hélène Jourda ) and Gilles Perroden ( Fr. Gilles Perraudin ), an awning of unusual shape was made [1] .

Origin of title

The station is named after located on the south-west of her street Laennek ( Fr. rue Laënnec ). The street, in turn, bears the name of a French physician, inventor of the stethoscope Rene Laenneck (1781-1826) [2] .
