Game career

Roman Gurin was born in the Zaporizhzhya region. At the age of 17, he joined the team at that time in the Premier League Niva (Ternopol). He made his debut in the top division on April 7, 2001 in a game with the Lviv “ Carpathians ”. Before the end of the season, he managed to play 7 matches in the Premier League, after which, together with Niva, he dropped into the first, and a year later, into the second division. Having played more than 100 official matches in the Ternopil club, in the 2005/06 season, Gurin lost his place in the main team and left it.

After leaving Ternopil, Gurin received an offer to go through a viewing in the Zhytomyr Zhytomy and the Kryvyi Rih Miner . Having chosen the second option, the goalkeeper spent several trainings with the Pitman and on April 13, 2006, for the first time he entered his squad for the championship match with Nikolaev . In the first fight after a 3-month pause without football, Gurin conceded two goals from the “shipbuilders” (0: 2), and in the next - three more from the “ Crystal ” (0: 3), while reflecting two penalties.

Starting from the 2010/11 season, Gurin became the main goalkeeper of Gornyak, holding at least 20 matches per season. In the 2014/15 season, his position at the base has changed dramatically - due to the invitation to the Miner Ruslan Zarubin and Gennady Ganev, competition for the number one post has intensified. This, as noted by experts, only benefited Gurin himself, who in the spring of 2015, despite the competition, took part in nine games in a row [2] .

In 2016, the Gornyak press service reported that cooperation with Roman Gurin was terminated due to termination of the contract by mutual agreement of the parties [3] .
