Hugo II de Pontier

Hugo II ( fr. Hugues II de Ponthieu ; d. November 20, 1052 ) - Count Pontier since 1045. Senor d'Aumal (for the rights of the wife).

Son of Angerran I de Pontier .

Around 1030, he married Berthe, daughter and heiress of Gerimfred, Señora d'Omale.

First mentioned in official documents from 1035. Having become a count, he continued his father’s policy of maintaining friendly relations with the dukes of Normandy .

Killed on November 20, 1052. He was buried in the abbey of Saint-Ricier .

• Hugo, participant of the Battle of Hastings
• Another son (possibly named Galeran) died in 1054 at the Battle of Mortemer.
