Job (Knyaginitsky) (also known as Job Manyavsky , in the world Ivan Knyaginitsky ; c. 1550 , Tysmenitsa - December 29, 1621 , Manyavsky Skit ) - church educator, schema monk . The locally venerated saint of the UOC (MP) , is venerated in the guise of the saints .

He was famous as an ascetic and creator of monasteries, a friend of John of Vishensky , Zacharia Kopystensky and other supporters of Orthodoxy in the difficult era of the introduction of the union .

Very little information has been preserved about his life. Reverend. Born in Tysmenitsa (now Ivano-Frankivsk region). Educated at the monastery school in Ugnev (now Lviv region ) and Ostrog . For some time he was a teacher at the Ostrog school.

In his youth, he twice visited Athos . For a long time he lived in one of the Athos monasteries, took tonsure under the name of Ezekiel . After returning, he reorganized a number of Orthodox monasteries. In 1606, he founded the Manyavsky monastery near the village of Manyava (now the Bogorodchansky district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region ). He maintained friendly relations with Ivan Vyshensky , Zakhary Kopystensky and other church leaders. Iov Knyaginitsky was addressed as an authority in matters of purity of faith (the famous appeal of Cyril Tranquilion ).

The life of Job Knyaginitsky was compiled by Ignatius of Lyubarov.

Canonization

In 1994, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) approved the commemoration of the Monk Job (Knyaginitsky) and ranked him among the locally revered saints.
