Emery IX ( Fr. Aimery IX de Thouars , 1225-1256) - French feudal lord, 23rd Viscount de Tuar (1246-1256). The son of Guy I de Tuar and his wife Alix de Moleon.

Biography
Inherited uncle - Emery VIII. Having ascended the throne, he brought the senior homage to Count Alfonso de Poitiers , brother of King Louis IX (November 1246).
As a grandson of Savary I de Moleon , in 1254 he added to his possessions the lands ceded to him by the viscount Emery de Rocheshoir and his wife Jeanne de Moleon (sister of Savary I) in exchange for a cash rent (110 livres).
In 1255 he brought homage to King Louis Saint as the owner of the castles of La Roche-sur-Yon and Bugon.
Emery IX died on December 11, 1256 [1] . He was succeeded by his younger brother - Reno I (1256-1269).
Family
- Wife (1246) - Margarita Lusignan (1220 - October 22, 1288), daughter of Hugo X Lusignan - Count de La March, and Isabella of Angouleme , divorced wife of Raymond VII of Toulouse .
- Son: Guy II (1246/49 - September 21, 1308), Viscount de Tuar.
The widowed Margarita Lusignan married Geoffrey VI de Chateaubriand.
