Biography
Stefan Velkovich started playing volleyball in the club of her native city Yagodin , and in 2001-2004 she played for his youth team. In 2004-2010, she played in the championships of Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia in the Belgrade teams “Poshtar-064” and “Crvena Zvezda”, repeatedly becoming the winner and prize winner of the competition.
In 2010-2013, Velkovich performed in Italy, first for Asistel Volley from Novara , and then after his dissolution for Carnagi ( Villa Cortese ). Then she played the season in the Turkish “Galatasaray”, after which for four seasons she played for the strongest Polish team “Hemik” from Police , having won with him 4 champion titles of the Polish championship . In 2018, she returned to Novara , where she plays for Igor Gorgondzola .
In 2007, Velkovic became the silver medalist of the European Championship among girls in the junior national team of Serbia and was recognized as the best player (MVP) of the tournament. In the same year, at the age of 17, she made her debut in the national team of the country in the World Cup , and a year later she took part in the Beijing Olympics . Since that time, Velkovic has always been a player in the Serbian national team, having missed only the 2011 season due to injury. As part of her team, she repeatedly won and won various international competitions, including the silver medalist of the 2016 Olympics , the European champion in 2017 and the world champion in 2018 . As a result of the European Championship victory for the Serbian team, 2017 entered the symbolic team of the tournament.
