Biography
Eric le Lesch was born on June 19, 1971 in the city of Dinan, department of Côte d'Armor . He began to actively engage in rowing in early childhood, was trained in Nevers in the local canoe club of the same name.
He achieved his first serious success at the adult international level in 1995, when he joined the main team of the French national team and attended the World Championships in Duisburg, Germany, from where he brought a bronze dignity award won in the classification of four-seater canoes at a distance of 200 meters. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta - he started in the singles program at five hundred meters, but managed to reach only the semi-finals, where he finished third.
After the Olympics in the United States, Le Lesch remained in the main composition of the rowing team of France and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 2000, he successfully qualified for the Olympic Games in Sydney - he stopped in the semi-finals alone at five hundred meters, where he showed the ninth result at the finish, while at a thousand meters he managed to break into the final and finished fourth in the decisive race, not reaching a bit to prize positions. Soon after the end of these competitions, he decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to young French rowers.
