Biography
Born May 10, 1932 in Baku . In 1956 he graduated from the Riga Higher Naval School , in 1962 - the directing department of VGIK (workshop of M. Romm ).
Until 1956, a submarine officer of the Navy . In 1956-1958 worked as a teacher in high school. In cinema, he began his career with the role of a physicist in the film by Mikhail Romm “ Nine Days of One Year ”. Since 1964 - director of the Mosfilm film studio. He shot a number of stories for " Wick ". Co-author of the script of some of his own films.
Member of the CPSU since 1954 [1] .
He died on February 18, 2019 in Moscow at the 87th year of his life. [2]
