Countries participating in the 2015 Rugby World Cup (marked in blue).

Lists of players for the 2015 Rugby World Cup , consisting of 31 rugby players, were made available to the IRB on behalf of each participating team until August 31, 2015. In the future, players could be removed from the team due to injury and replaced by other players, but could not be returned to the composition after the replacement (without another replacement). All changes in the composition of the players should have occurred at least 48 hours before the upcoming match ^[1] . The positions of the players are given in accordance with the official website of the World Cup. Inside the list of positions, players are arranged in alphabetical order. In total, 620 athletes were declared for the tournament, taking into account the injured ^[2] . Rugby players are listed for inclusion in the roster on the day the final tournament starts (September 18, 2015) and as they are included in the application in case of replacement of injured players. Players are listed in alphabetical order according to their playing roles. The age of the athletes is also given as of September 18, 2015. The list indicates the last club with which the rugby player represented had a professional or semi-professional contract on that date ^[2] .

The youngest player in the championship was the midfielder of the Georgian national team scramble Vasil Lobzhanidze , who at that time also became the youngest player in the history of world championships (18 years 11 months 4 days) ^[3] . The oldest player is the castle of the South African national team, Victor Matfield ^[4] . The youngest team in the tournament was England , whose average age was 26.2 years. The oldest team was Tonga (29.4 years) ^[5] . For the flanker of the Italian national team, Mauro Bergamasco this tournament was the fifth world championship in which the player took part, thereby repeating the record of the Samoan Brian Lima in the maximum number of entries in the Webb Ellis Cup ^[6] . The greatest experience in the number of meetings at the world championships was possessed by the captain of the New Zealand national team, Richie McCaw - 16 matches ^[7] .

Most of the rugby players in the tournament were the Haguares and Glasgow Warriors clubs (21 players each). Most of the athletes included in the national teams played in the championships of France and England (121 and 103 players, respectively), in particular the teams of England and France consisted entirely of players playing in the clubs of their country ^[8] . The smallest number of representatives of the home championship was noted in the Tong national team - 1 player ^[8] .

The composition was provided on August 21, 2015 ^[9] . On September 29, Sam Carter and James Hanson replaced Will Skelton and Wycliffe Palu, who were injured during a match with the team of Uruguay ^[10] .

Bottom line: dropped out in the quarter finals, losing to the South African team

The composition was provided on August 31, 2015 ^[15] . The national team of Wales made the largest number of changes in the application for the tournament. On September 8, after a test match with the Italian team, Mike Phillips and Eli Walker replaced injured Rice Webb and Li Halfpenny ^[16] . September 14, Ross Moriarty replaced as part of Eli Walker, injured in training ^[17] . On September 21, Tyler Morgan replaced Cory Allen, injured during the opening match with the team of Uruguay ^[18] . On September 28, James Hook and Gareth Enskoy replaced Hallam Amos and Scott Williams, who were injured during a match with the team of England ^[19] . On October 11, Eli Walker was again included in the application, replacing Liam Williams, who was injured during a match with the Australian team ^[20] .
