Geography

The village of Maksimovka is located on the left bank of the Nezhegolek River, 5 kilometers from its confluence with Nezhegol . Downstream are the villages of Chervona Dibrovka and Bolshroitsky , upstream are the farms Krepatsky and Shemrayevka .

The Shebekino - Volokonovka highway passes through the village. Also from Maksimovka go asphalt roads to Bagovoy and Shemraevka [2] .

History

The village was founded in the early 1700s as the Maklakov (Maximov) farm. In 1720, it was renamed Maksimovka Farm. Since 1740, the settlement has entered the Novooskolsky district of the Kursk province .

At the end of the XIX century the largest landowner Maksimovka was Dobryniha. When in 1905 she called on the Cossacks to protect her estate, the Cossacks clashed with local peasants, after which the landowner decided to sell off their land. In 1910, part of the land in Maksimovka, together with the distillery, was acquired by the landowner Dykhov, later it resold the land to landowner Kvakov.

By 1917 there were about 300 households in Maksimovka, the population was about 2000 people. After the revolution, many farmers left Maksimovka to work in the cities.

In March 1927, an agricultural artel named after Gorkiy was established in the village. Dzerzhinsky. In 1929 the collective farm “Victory” was organized, in 1930 - the collective farm “Answer to the pests”. By the beginning of 1931, two collective farms united in one, called " Komsomolets ".

In the 1930s, some residents of Maksimovka were dispossessed . Many Maximov died in the famine of 1933-1934 .

The primary school opened in Maximovka in 1919, and in 1932 the construction of a new seven-year school began. For the construction they brought wood from neighboring villages, and also dismantled huts of dispossessed peasants.

In the early days of the Great Patriotic War, many villagers went to the front. Of the 836 who left the front, 550 returned. In 1942, Maksimovka was occupied. The German authorities in the village were represented by the elder Demyan Anisimovich Korzhov and the policeman Petr Pavlovich Leonov. Maksimovka was liberated by Soviet troops in 1943.

In 1946, a drought led to another famine.

At the end of the 1940s, a first-aid station, a school, and a reading room worked in Maksimovka. In 1950, collective farms were enlarged, and "Komsomolets" became part of the collective farm. Andreeva. In 1955, after the next consolidation, Maksimovka became part of the “Russia” collective farm. In 1964, the collective farm was renamed "Rassvet".

In the 1960s, a new first-aid post building (1963), a monument to the Soldier-Liberator (1966), a culture house for 420 seats (1968), a grain store, pigsty, 14 semi-detached and 5 four-apartment houses were built, a pond was dug in the village. In the 1970s, the kolkhoz government building, seed storage and a warm garage for cars were built. In 1977 a two-storied school building with 320 places was put into operation. In the 1980s, a kindergarten for 90 places (1986), a bath (1987), a combine repair shop, a chemical warehouse, a butter churn, and two hay storages were built.

In February 1992, the collective farm "Rassvet" was transformed into a closed joint-stock company , and all the land was divided into shares. In 1993, the gasification of housing began in the village [3] .
