John ( Ivashko ) - Pskov clerk .

In 1463, during the war with the Germans (with the Livonian Order [1] ), volunteers elected him governor. He went for Izborsk , with great booty he returned home. In 1471, Pskov, on the orders of the Grand Duke, went to Novgorod . At the head of the army of more than 1.5 thousand people were John and Manukhna Syuygin. At first, their business went well, they burned and robbed villages for 20 miles from their line. But then they were unexpectedly attacked by the Novgorodians; some of the volunteers fled, and only a few of those who entered the battle escaped; most were beaten; the Novgorodians took away everything they had stolen and their weapons. The further fate of Ivashka is unknown.
