Biography
Ragimova Elmira Allaverdi kizi was born on August 13, 1941 in Baku. She graduated from the Azerbaijan University of Languages in 1970, the Azerbaijan State Music College in 1965. Since 1956, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic . In the late 50s, she became famous thanks to the performance of Indian songs. Twice she was in India at the invitation of Jawaharlal Nehru (1957-59, 1961). During her stay in India, she studied Indian songs and dances. Also in India, she performed Azerbaijani songs. In the 60s she sang songs on tours around the world.
Has a son and two grandchildren.
