At present, marriage is defined in the Constitution of Mongolia as “based on the equality and mutual consent of spouses who have reached the legal age. The state protects the interests of the family, motherhood and the child ” [3] , and, thus, does not directly characterize the right of same-sex couples to marry. The LGBT community in Mongolia has a weak presence in public attention, although in Mongolian society, according to Western travelers, there is no high level of aggression towards homosexuals.
