History
The enterprise was created on the basis of repair and mechanical workshops involved in the repair of machines and mechanisms involved in the construction of the Saratov-Moscow gas pipeline (workshops were created in the autumn of 1945 on the basis of an order from the head of the Main Directorate of Aviation Construction of the USSR NKVD L. B. Safrazyan ). In 1947, the workshops turned into a repair factory where there was appropriate equipment.
In 1947, the plant was given the name of a mechanical repair plant, and Georgy Pavlovich Petelin was appointed its director.
The factory switched to the production of reservoir metal structures in the 1950s .
In 1973, Konstantin Georgievich Fedotov was appointed director. In 1979, Nikolai Georgievich Maraev was appointed director. In 1984, Alexander Semenovich Saratovsky was appointed director.
Products
The plant produces metal structures for vertical welded steel cylindrical tanks with a capacity of up to 100 thousand cubic meters (for oil, oil products, water), metal structures for vertical cylindrical steel welded tanks with a capacity of up to 50 thousand cubic meters, silos .
Custom-made metal structures were used in the construction of Saratov's facilities: the Crystal Palace of Sports, the Ekran Cinema, and the Theater named after K. Marx , Haymarket , circus them. Nikitins brothers and a road bridge across the Volga .
