Spetses is an island in the Gulf of Argolis in Greece.

Geography
The area of the island is 22 square meters. km The coast is 25 km long. The distance from the port of Piraeus to the capital (island of the same name) of the island is −53 Mormili, and one and a half miles from the harbor of Costa.
Climate
The climate is Mediterranean. Summer is dry and warm. Winters are mild and windy. The sea is warm until October. The swimming season opens in April [1] .
History
The history of the island dates back to the early bronze, when more than 4 thousand years ago it was inhabited by the legendary Pelasgians - builders of cyclopean walls. The city of Mycenaean period is located at the bottom of the harbor of Agia Marina. Numerous churches of medieval and modern times survived, in which the island was one of the bases of the Turkish fleet, and then played a role as a participant in the country's independence wars in 1821-22 and 1827, which can be found in the museum of the island.
Modernity
The modern capital of the island attracts with its streets with snow-white houses of merchants and captains of the neoclassical style, temples and embankments with small yacht marinas. Yards and streets are often paved with traditional pebbles of different colors. The Trinity Church of 1793, the complex of buildings of the museum of the island, numerous churches at different ends of the island are interesting. The island is known for its sandy beaches, groves and modern tourist services. On the beach Paraskevi and Anargiri the Athenians and Nafplionians who came by ferry from the Peloponnese love to relax.
Economics
The inhabitants of the island are engaged in the tourism industry. A shipyard operates on the island [2] .
