The 29th European Weightlifting Championship was held from September 4 to 6, 1949 in Scheveningen ( The Hague ). It was attended by 27 athletes from 8 countries. The USSR team did not take part. Athletes were divided into 6 weight categories and competed in eventing ( bench press , jerk and push ). This tournament was held as part of the 27th World Cup .
