Content
History
Sheki County was formed in 1840 as part of the Caspian region . Since 1846, the county was renamed to Nukhinsky and referred to Shemakha province , in 1867 - to Elizavetpolsky . In 1918, the county became part of the ADR , later - in 1920 , became part of the Azerbaijan SSR . It was abolished in 1929 .

According to the census of 1897, 120,555 people lived in the county, including 24,734 people in the city of Nuh . [one]
According to the census of 1926, the county population was 107,049 people. [2] , including 22,944 people in Nukh
National composition

- Azeris (Tatars) - 83,578 people. (69.3%),
- Armenians - 18,899 people (15.7%),
- Lezgins (Kyurintsy) - 8506 people. (7.1%),
- Udine - 7030 people. (5.8%),
- Tats ( Mountain Jews ) - 1752 people (1.5%),
- Russians - 196 people (0.2%),
