Gonzalez was selected at the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft by the Florida Marlins Club, and later traded to the Texas Rangers . After the end of the 2010 season, one year before the completion of the contract with the Padres, he was exchanged for the Boston Red Sox . In August 2012 he moved to the Dodgers.
