Biography
In 1915 he graduated from the directing class of the theater school of F. Komissarzhevsky. Member of the First World War. The officer. For courage he was awarded the St. George Crosses of all four degrees.
In the 1920s, he directed the theaters of Moscow and Leningrad (including the 1st Moscow Proletkult Theater ), collaborated with V. E. Meyerhold .
In 1926-1933 - Director and screenwriter of the film studio " Lenfilm ", then in 1936-1938 - at " Belgoskino ".
Member of World War II. Being already of unapproachable age, he achieved sending to the front, he fought. He became a holder of the Order of Glory of the III degree, was awarded the medal "For Courage". [one]
Since 1949 he worked at the Leningrad film studio of popular science films. Prominent director of the popular science and art criticism cinema.
