Biography
Miguel Garcia Fernandez was born on February 6, 1973 in the village of Luanco of the municipality of Goso .
He achieved his first serious success at the international level in 1992 when he joined the main team of the Spanish national team and, thanks to a series of successful performances, won the right to defend the honor of the country at the home summer Olympics in Barcelona . Started here in fours at a distance of 1000 meters, but managed to reach only the stage of the semi-finals, where he finished fifth.
In 1994, García Fernandez attended the World Championships in Mexico City, from where he brought a bronze medal won in the standings of single canoes on two hundred meters - only Belarusian Belarusian Kalesnik and Hungarian Vince Fehervari walked around in the final. Being one of the leaders of the rowing team in Spain, he successfully qualified for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta - he showed the sixth result in a single half-kilometer program, while in fours he finished fifth in the decisive race, a little short of winning the top positions. Soon after the end of these competitions, he decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to the team of young Spanish rowers.
