The length of the steamer was 36.58 meters , the width without plating - 6.7 meters , draft - 3.28 meters . A steam engine of 60 nominal liters was installed on the steamer . with. [one]
Service history
The ship was laid down on December 4 ( 16 ), 1837 in the Main Admiralty in St. Petersburg , launched on October 10 ( 22 ), 1839 .
From 1841 to 1854, during the periods of navigation, he cruised between St. Petersburg, Kronstadt , Sveaborg , Gangut and Reval [2] .
He took part in the operations of the Baltic company in 1853-1854. In the spring of 1854, he participated in the production of galvanic mines of the Jacobi system in the Gulf of Finland. The mines set by him did not allow the Anglo-French fleet to break through to Kronstadt. In June 1855, several British ships were blown up on minefields exposed north of Kronstadt, including the steamer frigate Merlin and the steamer Ferflyai [3] [4] [5] .
In 1848 and 1849, Prince K. N. Boratov served in the rank of midshipman on the ship “Diligent” [6] . In 1949, Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna and Crown Prince Virtenberg Karl Friedrich Alexander traveled on board the ship from Kronstadt to Riga [7] .
In 1852, Lt. A. Mozhaisky served on a steamer [8] .
In 1854 the steamship "Diligent" was sold for scrap [1] .
