Biography
Herman Adolf - the son of Count Simon VII of Lipp and Countess Anna Catherine of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (1590-1622). Under Herman Adolf, several trials of witches took place in Detmold. In the years 1663-1664, German Adolf took part in the 4th Austro-Turkish War , sending a company of 140 Landsknechts to fight the Turks.
Descendants
In 1648, Herman Adolf married Countess Ernestine of Isenburg-Büdingen-Birstein from Offenbach (1614–1665). The spouses were born:
- Simon Henry (1649–1697), married to Burgalia Amalia Dona Vianenne from The Hague (1645–1700)
- Anna Maria (1651–1690)
- Sophia Ernestina (1652-1702)
- Johannes Elizabeth (1653–1690), married to Count Christoph Frederick Dona-Laucki (1652–1734)
After the death of Ernestine, Herman Adolf married in 1666 a cousin, Countess Amalia Lippe-Brack (1629–1676), daughter of Otto Lippe-Brack . The marriage remained childless.
