Biography

He graduated from the Stavropol Agricultural Institute , HPS at the Central Committee of the CPSU . He worked as an instructor of the district party committee, secretary of the party committee of the state farm, chairman of the collective farm, chairman of the Labinsky district executive committee. In 1990-1993 - First Deputy Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Agricultural Union, Director General of the Department of Agriculture and Food, First Deputy Head of the Regional Administration of the Krasnodar Region, Chairman of the Regional Government.

December 23, 1992 [1] , was appointed governor of the Krasnodar Territory. From May 16, 1994 to June 30, 1995, Minister of the Russian Federation for National Affairs and Regional Policy. November 30, 1994: appointed plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in Chechnya. On December 8, 1994, he was appointed Head of the Territorial Administration of the Federal Executive Authorities in the Chechen Republic with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. On January 26, 1995, he was relieved of this position “for health reasons”. June 30, 1995 removed from his post as minister after the events in the town of Budennovsk . In August 1995, he was appointed Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation on issues of interethnic relations. From January to July 1996, he worked as head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Expert and Analytical Council under the President, member of the Security Council.

July-November 1996 - again the governor of the Krasnodar Territory; in November 1996, he lost the election of Governor Nikolai Kondratenko (less than 8% of the vote); elected deputy of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the first convocation (1993-1995); The Council of Federation of the second convocation was an ex officio member (1996). He was married, two children.

He died on April 25, 1997 from lung cancer.

Anatoly Kulikov, in his memoirs, noted Egorov as a person “with sinful masterly manners and dismissive attitude towards those who occupied more modest places in the hierarchy of state service” [2] .
