Biography

Graduated from MGIMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (1949).

  • 1955-1959 - worked at the World Peace Council (Vienna),
  • 1959-1964 - Deputy Executive Secretary of the SKZM (Moscow),
  • 1964-1977 - Senior Researcher, Lead Researcher, Team Leader, Head of International Relations Department, IMEMO,
  • 1977-1998 - Deputy Director of IMEMO.

Since 1998 - Advisor to the RAS.

Doctor of historical sciences, professor. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1987 - Department of Economics (world economy, international relations).

In 1978-2005 Editor-in-chief of the International Yearbook IMEMO - Economics and Politics (since 1992 - Year of the Planet).

Compositions

Author of monographs:

  • "International relationships. Transformation of the global structure ”;
  • “International Security: Past, Present, Future”;
  • “The image of Russia as a subject of the formation of the modern world order”,
  • "National interests and foreign policy"

Awards, Prizes

Laureate of the USSR State Prize . He was awarded two orders of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree (1999) [1] . He was awarded the E.V. Tarle Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2012) for the monograph "National Interests and Foreign Policy" [2] .
