USSR Women's Chess Championship 1927 - the first USSR women's chess championship was held from October 2 to 8, 1927 in Moscow.
It was held simultaneously with the 5th All-Union Chess-Drafts Congress; 11 participants - chess players who successfully performed in the championships of Moscow (6 people) and Leningrad (4), as well as N. Semevskaya (Vitebsk). Circular system, 3 rounds in 2 days. The participants who took 1-3 places were assigned the 2nd category in chess. The fight for the 1st place was conducted mainly between O. Rubtsova (Moscow) and L. Ageeva (Leningrad). The party between them, which Rubtsova won, actually decided the outcome of the championship. The first champion of the country was Rubtsova - 8½ points (without defeat), 2nd place was taken by L. Ageeva - 8 points, 3rd - V. Chudova - 7.
