The 1st unofficial world ice hockey championship among youth teams was held in the city of Leningrad from December 27, 1973 to January 6, 1974 . The world title was played by six teams in a circular system. The victory was won by hockey players of the USSR national team, Finland took the 2nd place. The bronze medals went to the national team of Canada .
