Biography
Reginald Oldworth Daily was born March 18, 1871 in the Canadian province of Ontario in the town of Greater Napanee .
At first he studied at the University of Togonto , where, under the influence of the geologist A.P. Coleman, he became interested in earth science and transferred to the Department of Geology at Harvard University, which R.O. Daily successfully graduated in 1893 and in which he later became a professor and head of the Department of Geology ( from 1912 to 1942).
From 1907 to 1912, Daly was a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology .
In 1929, he was elected a foreign corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union .
Reginald Oldworth Daily died on September 19, 1957 in Cambridge ( Massachusetts , USA ).
Among the scientist's awards: Penrose Medal (1935); Wollaston Medal (1942) and William Bowie Medal (1946).
