Biography
Seaver actively participated in the October Revolution , led the formation of Soviet power in Harju County and the nationalization of enterprises. December 1, 1924 attempted to organize an unsuccessful coup attempt in the country. In September 1925 he was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released after Estonia joined the USSR : on June 21, 1940, a crowd broke into Tallinn prison and literally carried out the weakened Seaver in his arms.
In 1940, Seaver was included in the Tallinn City Executive Committee of the Council of People's Deputies, from January 17, 1941 until September - its chairman (Tallinn mayor). After the start of World War II, he hastily left the city, but when trying to evacuate on September 28, 1941 , he died tragically, drowning in the Gulf of Finland. He was killed when the ship of the Baltic Fleet, the destroyer Jacob Sverdlov, hit a naval mine in the Gulf of Finland and sank. [1]
