Numerov Crater ( lat. Numerov ) - a large ancient impact crater in the southern hemisphere of the far side of the moon . The name was given in honor of the Soviet astronomer Boris Vasilyevich Numerov (1891-1941) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1970. The formation of the crater belongs to the nectar period [1] .

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Antoniadi crater adjacent to the Numerov crater in the west; Berlage Crater in the north; Crommeline Crater in the northeast; Zeeman Crater in the southeast; Crater De Forest in the south and Crater Brashear in the southwest [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 105.4 km [3] , depth 2.9 km [1] .
Numerov crater has a circular shape and is significantly destroyed. The shaft is flattened, the eastern part of the shaft is dotted with many small craters, the north-western part is partially blocked by the shaft of the Antoniadi crater and straightened. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 1560 m [1] , the volume of the crater is approximately 13200 km³ [1] . The bottom of the bowl is crossed, the north-western part of the bowl is blocked by rocks ejected during the formation of the crater Antoniadi. In the center of the bowl is a double central peak, south of which there are several short ridges.
