Biography
Shlyahtich coat of arms Verush . Born in the village of Radoszewice (now Payenchensky County , одódз Voivodeship , Poland ). Nephew of Bonaventure and Vincent Nemoevsky .
The leader of the nobility of the Wielum county of Kalisz Voivodeship of the Kingdom of Poland . In 1855 he traveled to Italy and Tunisia . In Italy, met with the poet and ethnographer Theophilus Lenartovich . He printed travel notes in Polish editions.
During the Polish uprising of 1863, he provided the rebels with food and money. When on March 15 (27), 1863, Russian troops defeated a detachment of Poles under Radoshevitsa under the command of Colonel Tseshkovsky , the tsar’s gendarmes reported that Voight Ludwik Nemoyevsky had concealed 8 wounded, and 9 dead rebels lying in blood were found in the church, covered in a flag with the inscription “Brothers to the martyrs of 1861. " He was accused of " wanting to arouse the population, arouse indignation by the actions of the Russian authorities and give rise to new manifestations ." In addition, he was charged with the fact that he extradited to the rebels “peasant traitors” who sympathize with the Russians whom they hanged in April 1863.
For participation in the 1863 uprising, he was sentenced by the authorities of the Russian Empire to death, which, at the insistence of the Viceroy of the Kingdom of Poland, was later replaced by hard labor in Siberia.
He served his sentence in the Yenisei province , then in Minusinsk , from where he traveled to Mongolia as a sales agent. Engaged in ethnographic research.
He returned home after 12 years and settled in Warsaw, where he died in 1892.
Creativity
In 1851 he published the comedy “Dwa towarzystwa”. In 1865 - “Komedie” ( Poznan ) and the poem “Obrazy z Pisma św.”.
The author of his memoirs on his stay in Siberia and Mongolia, "Letters from Siberia" and "Obrazki z Syberii" (1875), translated into English and published in London in 1885. He wrote short stories (“Willpower” / “Siła woli”).
He was buried at the Old Powzki cemetery in Warsaw.
