Mediterranean possession of the Order in the years 1530-1798

Possessions of the Order of Malta (Order of the Hospitallers ) - the totality of the territories of the world that belonged to this knightly religious order of the Roman Catholic Church in the XII — XVIII centuries. At various times, they included a number of islands and coastal lands of the Mediterranean , as well as (in the middle of the XVII century) island colonies in the West Indies (the Caribbean of America ). Currently, the Order owns (in the mode of extraterritoriality ) only a complex of mansions in Italian Rome .

  • Fortresses and settlements in the Kingdom of Jerusalem and the Principality of Antioch (on the coast of the Eastern Mediterranean ) - 1113–1187
  • Settlements in the county of Tripoli (in present-day Lebanon ) - 1187–1289
  • Settlements in the Kingdom of Cyprus - 1291-1309
  • Rhodes , the Dodecanese Islands (except Karpathos , Kasos and Astypalaia ) (now in Greece ) and Bodrum (now in Turkey ) - 1309–1522
