History

Snapseed was developed by Nik Software and was available on iOS , OS X, and Windows . The application was initially only available on the iPad , but has already managed to become the application of the year 2011 according to Apple [1] .

On September 12, 2012, Google took over Nik Software, the developer of Snapseed. At the time of the takeover, the application already existed not only for the iPad , but also for the iPhone and iPod touch [1] .

December 11, 2012 Google introduced Snapseed for Android and updated the application for iOS, making it free [2] .

On April 9, 2015, the first major update for the application was released. New filters and tools have been added [3] .

Features

Snapseed allows you to professionally process photos on your phone or tablet.

Available Processing Tools

  • Correction: makes automatic corrections.
  • Sharpness: Enhances the sharpness of the image.
  • Crop: allows you to crop a picture
  • Rotate: allows you to rotate or align the image.

  • HDR Effect: Applies the multiple exposure effect.
  • Drama: Adds an effect tailored to the photo.
  • Grunge: Imposes a color style tailored to a particular photo.
  • Coarse Grain: Creates a grainy image.
  • Vintage: draws photos in the style of color cinema.
  • Retrolux: creates the effect of an aged photo.
  • Noir: creates the effect of black and white cinema.
  • B / W: Applies a black and white filter.
  • Frames: various design options for the edges of the image [4] .

Features

  • When processing the image orientation with small rotations of the picture, the missing parts are automatically added to the program.
  • It is possible to cancel any change to the photo, regardless of the sequence of changes.
  • A step-by-step view of all changes is possible.
