1st Serboluzhitsky Cultural Brigade

The 1st Serboluzhitsky Cultural Brigade was founded on January 25, 1949 as a youth initiative in the framework of the public movement “Gymnasium School of the Serboluzhitsky People”. The purpose of the movement was the development, preservation of the folk Ludza choral and musical art, as well as the publication of musical literature and the organization of new youth orchestras, urban and rural choirs. At the first stage of its development, the organization brought together about 90 young people from 15 to 20 years old, who became the basis of a new nascent choral movement. Since 1953, the 1st Serboluzhitsky Cultural Brigade, with the aim of spreading choral and musical art among the Luga youth, took part in the youth camps " Shadzovanka ". Among the repertoire of the 1st Serboluzhitsky brigade were folk Puddle songs, German classical and modern musical works. In 1972, the organization was awarded the Yakub Chishinsky Prize .

Currently, the organization participates in various musical events in Lužice . In 2008, during the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the organization, the Łužiskoserbska bjesada choir program was introduced to the music of the Serbluzhitsky composer Barnat Krautz and Rachmaninov’s composition “All-Night Vigil” in the St. Nicholas Budishino Church. Every four years, the organization makes a tour in various European countries.

Currently (2017), the organization regularly performs at the Serbian Gymnasium Budyshina ^[1] .
