Biography
Born in the village of Sosnovy cape of the Mamadysh district of the Kazan province (now Tyulyachinsky district) in 1899. In childhood and youth, he worked in the Yuzovsky ore department of the Lugansk district. During the civil war he was in the Red Guard. In the 1920s he moved to Kuzbass .
Zakirov worked for twenty-seven years at the Leninsky mine, including at the Polysaevskaya mine, by a fastener. Miners of the district elected him a deputy of the Leninsk-Kuznetsk city Council of Workers' Deputies. In 1948, the oldest miner of the Zakirov mine was awarded the title of honorary miner. In the same year, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded him the title of Hero of Socialist Labor and awarded the Second Order of Lenin for his long service.
He worked in the mine until 1957. On May 27, 1972, an accident occurred as a result of which Zakirov Z. Z. was poisoned by carbon monoxide.
He died on December 27, 1972. In August 2015, a public garden in memory of Zakir Zafirov was opened in Polysaevo [1] .
