History

The village of Pokrovka is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [2] .

POKROVSKA - the village belongs to Kruglikova, lieutenant colonel, the number of inhabitants under the audit: 32 m., 32 railways. p. [3] (1838)

The village of Pokrovka is marked on the map of Professor S. S. Kutorgi in 1852 [4] .

Pokrovka - the village of the heirs of the Kruglikovs, along the postal tract, the number of yards - 19, the number of souls - 43 m. [5] (1856)

According to the map of 1863, near the village were: a brick factory and Leshchinsky Manor .

In the XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Christmas parish of the 3rd zemsky section of the 2nd camp of the Tsarskoye Selo district of St. Petersburg province.

According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Pokrovka was part of the Yaschera rural society [7] .

From 1917 to 1922, the village of Pokrovka was part of the Pokrovsky village council of the Christmas parish of Detskoselsky county .

Since 1922, as part of the Lizard Village Council.

Since 1923, as part of the Gatchina district.

Since August 1927, as part of the Luga region.

In 1928, the population of the village of Pokrovka was 193 people.

Since January 1932, as part of the Krasnogvardeisky district [8] .

According to 1933, the village was called Pokrovka and was part of the Yashersky village council of the Krasnogvardeisky district [9] .

From August 1, 1941 to December 31, 1943 the village was under occupation.

Since June 1954, as part of the Sorokinsky Village Council of the Gatchinsky District.

In 1958, the population of the village of Pokrovka was 37 people.

Since July 1959, as part of the Mshinsky Village Council of the Gatchinsky District.

In 1997, 13 people lived in the village of Pokrovka, Mshinsky volost, in 2002 - 29 people (Russians - 90%) [13] [14] .

In 2007, 13 people lived in the village of Pokrovka, Mshinsky SP [15] .

Geography

The village is located in the northern part of the district on the P23 Pskov highway ( E 95 , St. Petersburg - the border with Belarus ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 16 km [15] .

The distance to the nearest railway platform Divenskaya is 9 km [10] .

The Bolshaya Kanava River flows through the village.
